White Sage (Salvia Apiana) is a plant native to high desert ecosystems and grows prevalently in California and in the Mountain West. Palo Santo

$14 (3 sticks)

Palo Santo is sacred wood from the Palo Santo Tree, native to the coast of South America. Its name literally means holy wood, and it is just that. When burned, the smoke is believed to have both medicinal and therapeutic healing powers.

Traditionally burned by Incas, indigenous people of the Andes, Shamans and medicine people for spiritual purifying, energy cleansing and healing. Some of the most well-known Palo Santo uses include inspiring creativity, evoking protection, infusing blessings and bringing both love and good fortune.

One of the most amazing aspects of Palo Santo Wood is that it’s wild harvested by a family who have planted over 30,000 trees in Ecuador over the last 10 years. It comes from naturally fallen trees and branches that lay fallen for 4-10 years before they are harvested. This ensures a very high-quality product that is both loved and respected.

Most people who never or rarely use resin incense often think of it simply as an air freshener or an odor eater and are unaware of the many benefits they have on the mind and body. Even many who regularly use resins may not fully appreciate all its physical and psychological benefits. Almost every religion and culture since the beginning of time have used resin incense for their spiritual powers, tribal healers and physicians throughout history have used resin incense for their healing powers, and why monks have used them for thousands of years for their ability to help with concentration, why artists use them to inspire creativity, and why some couples use them to heighten sexual experiences. There are many different types available to suit your specific needs.

Benzoin Resin

$10 (10g Pkt)

Benzoin resin is produced by a shrubby deciduous tree, belonging to the Styraceae family. A common tree in Sumatra growing upwards of 12 metres.

New Age users usually attribute peace-promoting properties to benzoin resin, and burn it both to drive away negativity, soothe anger, and enhance concentration. Since ancient times, benzoin resin has been considered a protective incense against all types of malignancy, especially when combined with other precious incense resins (i.e. frankincense, myrrh, copal, dragon’s blood). Burning benzoin resin incense prior to astral travel is said to protect oneself from evil entities that may be encountered during travel and that generally drives away any spirits that may attempt to possess the body while in such a state. Chinese magicians believe that burning benzoin resin can enhance one’s luck and increase the profitability of a business.

Resin Incense Burner

$20

Traditionally, resin incense burners were referred to as “censers,” and were usually small metal or stone dishes that often rested on short legs. Since many cultures treat the burning of resin incense as a spiritual or ceremonial event, censers were often designed and decorated with images that reflected the type of spirituality in question. These Resin Incense Burners are specifically designed for burning charcoal and resin incense. Instructions for use: Fill a heat proof incense bowl with 1-2 inches of sand. The sand will help dissipate the heat so that the incense burner will not get too hot. Using tweezers or tongs to hold the charcoal block, light the edge. If it’s self-igniting charcoal (contains potassium nitrate) you will see tiny sparks as you light it and it should ignite quickly. You may need to keep the heat on it for a few minutes. If your charcoal tablet has a concave indentation on one side, place it in the burner with the hollow facing up. When the charcoal is glowing red hot which could take about 5 minutes or so place resin in the concave indentation directly onto the charcoal.
